Dear Mother-in-Law, Thank You for Raising the Man of my Dreams.

To my mother in law,

Here I sit with my sweet boy in my arms. I can’t help but notice how much he looks like your boy, too.

As I stare at him my heart fills with so much love. I love him all on his own, but it’s extra special he is so much like his daddy.

There is no doubt in my mind you stared at my husband the same way I stare at your grandson now.

I just want to say, thank you.

I never knew what it took to be a mom. I never knew the ins and outs of raising a kid.

It scares me because I want my son to grow up to be a kind, strong and loving man. Sometimes I don’t know how to do that.

Oh, but you certainly did.

You raised your boy to give out kindness like it was fun and easy. You raised him with loyalty and respect running through his blood.

Thank you for raising a gentleman and a leader.

Thank you for raising a man who loves Jesus and people unapologetically.

Thank you for raising a man who already knew how to be a husband, because you instilled in him every attribute it takes to be a good one.

I now have an idea of how hard it would be to let go of your son. I know you probably had the stomach sinking feeling when you realized he wasn’t your little boy anymore.

I now know the exhaustion, tears and tremendous joy you experienced raising him, and I appreciate what you did more than ever.

You did the heavy lifting.

I reaped the benefits of your work.

Thank you.

Not only did you help me have an amazing husband, but he is doing an incredible job raising our little boy with these same qualities.

Your impact is bigger than you’ll ever know.

I’m forever grateful to you, my mother in law.

Because that little boy who I know was your dream come true, is also mine.

Love,

Your daughter in law
