Help My Sensitive Soul, Jesus.

Sometimes I wonder why I’m so sensitive.

Why do little things hurt my feelings?

Am I that insecure?

Why does someone being upset with me feel like a million pounds on my chest?

I know I can’t make everyone happy.

Why is it so easy for me to slip into a mindset that I can’t do anything right, when one thing goes wrong.

It’s exhausting.

I don‘t want to feel all these things all at once.

It would be so much easier to just not care.

But Jesus, you work in our sensitive souls.

Although you don’t want us run down by emotion, insecurity or negativity..

You do know how to use our sensitivity.

Because I know it’s this same sensitive side of us that feels compassion for others.

It’s our sensitive selves that can experience a great amount of love and show it to the people we are near.

Sensitivity helps us respond out of kindness, because we can tell someone needs it.

In fact, being sensitive helps us understand where other people are at, and meet them right there.

Sensitivity is beautiful when it’s coupled with truth.

Because the truth is, even if we feel a lot, we are not called to carry it all on our own.

And even if we messed up, we don’t have to condemn ourselves.

The truth says we are loved no matter how we feel.

So Jesus, I pray you help us utilize the gift of feeling.

I pray it glorifies you, instead of hurting us.

Because you know how to use our weakness and turn it into strengths.

And take our strengths and turn them into gifts that can bless others.

Thank you for making us the way you did, Lord.

Even when it’s hard, we know you can use our sensitive hearts to show the world a little more of you.
