In The Storm, Hold on to the Anchor that is Hope

There will be times and situations when beauty and hope will be hidden.

In fact, there will be times when the idea of anything “good” will seem incomprehensible.

It will feel like everything around us is up in flames or already burned to ashes.

The ache in our soul will make it pretty difficult to find the silver lining.

I get it. I know that the weight of this world can be crushing.

The problem is that so many people are giving up on life because they believe it’s hopeless.

The lies whispering, it’s not going to get better, start small and end up screaming.

There is no beauty, no goodness here.

So they give up hope.

If you are there right now, I’m so incredibly sorry. I’m so sorry you have to feel that.

But if there is just one thing I could ask of you, it would be this:

Look for it.

Look for the glimmer of hope.

I know you might be thinking, there is none.

But friend, that is a bold face lie.

There is always hope. Always. 100% of the time.

God’s story for you will never end with hopelessness. Ever.

But you will have to walk through this current season to get there. You will have to look, seek, search for it.

But it IS there.

Hope is there because God is there.

Your life is not over. Dig into the hope that can anchor your soul amidst the darkest of raging storms.

Hope is there. Even among the wind and waves.

And when you see it, hang on to it. Grab ahold of it and don’t let go.

Remember that it won’t always feel this hard to feel hope.

There will come a day when it’s so much more easier to see.

But for today, remember that hope hasn’t left you.

Because God hasn’t left you.

And He never will.
